What is the Vortex?

Story vortex is a whimsical whirlpool of stories with moving bits and pieces, stretching, twisting and interacting in complex ways.

The narratives you are drawn to shape who you are, and who we are creates our narratives. We construct stories and they construct us.

Be it a bespoke story based on a word prompt of your choice, a dream snippet, an unsolicited piece of advice or other narrative experiments, every NFT tale is a surprise, revealed to you and you alone.

 

Buying a Story

Story vouchers are NFTs that can be redeemed for another unique NFT. Each voucher is valid for receiving a specific story. Check out available vouchers.

seed the vortex

The voucher buyer fills a form and inputs a seed word of their choice, or generates a random word to seed the vortex. The buyer has up to 10 days to seed, or a random word will be automatically chosen.

receive the story

After seeding the vortex, a new NFT will get airdropped to the buyer’s wallet within a set period of time. This new NFT will contain their handcrafted story, derived from the seed they provided.

There are stories available in many different formats, be it text, audio, videos, images, and more. Choices, so many choices. Pick yours.

Bespoke stories

Whimsical narrative snippets based on a seed word of your choice. They can vary in length – from two paragraphs to two tomes, and in format – story, scene, diary entry, short essay, stream of consciousness, dialogue. The sky is the limit.

Dream excerpts

Everybody dreams, not everyone remembers them. Why not increase your dream assets by collecting authentic oneiric reports from a prolific dreamer? Guaranteed not to bore you. Dreams come mostly in text form, but beware of the occasional image or video. 

Heartfelt Compliments

A sincere and uplifting compliment, crafted especially for the buyer’s, based on their social media presence.

Inception

Want to incept narratives into people’s lives? Contribute to the seed word bank and whenever your suggestion is picked to seed an impromptu story, either by a buyer or the friendly algorithm, you’ll receive a NFT link to the tailored piece. The more words you incept, the more story fruits you’ll bear. Think of it as a more ethical sperm bank overflow.

Random Thoughts

Rants and ramblings, loose ideas, observations, insights, pet peeves and obsessions. If it’s random, we got it. Thoughts come and go, here they are captured and expanded, in video or SMS records.

Character Network

Video micro series portraying the intricate way in which the most preposterous characters interact over particular issues. Is it comedy? Is it tragedy? Can’t tell. Is it fun? Always.

Robot Scenes

Who are we? Where are we? What are we doing? How are we feeling? Let us be your robots and improv an audio scene based on your commands, Master.

Fake Trivia

What’s better than trivia? Fake trivia, of course! Impress your friends with your knowledge of complete horseshit. More (un)believable than reality.

Behind the vortex

The personalized stories are written by experienced writers and improv comedians. This project aims to grow and nurture a community of writers and creators, which will get commissions and royalties from the NFTs sold.

Part of the revenue will also go to a community fund, and the creators can then choose projects and initiatives to invest in, using a DAO.

The project will start with an initial team, and submissions will be open for new writers as demand increases.
